The AI and Social Mobility Challenge Prize cohort met at LinkedIn HQ in London for a session about investment readiness, storytelling and building a credible brand. Social Tech Trust described conversations led by speakers from Microsoft and LinkedIn on how founders communicate the problems they are tackling and the evidence behind their work.

That distinction matters for AVA Academy. Lived experience can help identify a barrier in university admissions, but it does not by itself prove that a product removes that barrier. We need to show what support students actually use, how institutions implement it, and what outcomes can be attributed to the programme rather than to other factors.

Our public updates will follow the same principle: explain the problem plainly, show the work, and keep claims in proportion to the evidence available.
